DLA Aviation lends one of its own to national COVID-19 response

RICHMOND, Va. — A Defense Logistics Agency contracting officer with firsthand experience responding to a crisis is helping the agency’s Rapid Deployment Blue Team support U.S. Army North medical and logistics units responding to COVID-19.

Members of DLA’s rapid deployment Red Team brave the gas chamber to conduct a functions test on personal protective equipment during nuclear, biological and chemical training at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, Jan. 16-20.

RICHMOND, Va. — Three Defense Logistics Agency Rapid Deployment Teams stand ready to help military and federal agencies supporting global emergencies like humanitarian assistance and pandemic response. Employees on the cross-functional, 13-member red, white and blue teams are trained to immediately deploy wherever they’re needed.

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia’s Security and Emergency Services Division held a Preparedness Fair closing out National Preparedness Month Sept. 28 during the lunch rush at the Defense Supply Center Richmond cafeteria.
