Real ID Act brings new identification requirements for domestic travel, installation access

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — After years of delays and extensions, the federal government’s Real ID Act is officially in effect, bringing new identification requirements for domestic air travel and access to federal facilities and military installations.

Deadline for Real ID compliance 10 months away

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Beginning Oct. 1, 2020, every airline passenger must present a Real ID-compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license or another acceptable form of identification to fly within the United States.
