Virginia National Guard cuts ribbon at new state headquarters

Chesterfield County, Va. — Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen, members of the Virginia Defense Force, friends and family members joined distinguished guests at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Virginia National Guard’s newly-built Joint Force Headquarters building May 14, 2018, at Defense Supply Center Richmond in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and Defense Supply Center Richmond Commander, Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day greets Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and the Adjutant General of Virginia, Maj. Gen. Timothy Williams to the installation for a ground-breaking ceremony August 17. The Virginia National Guard is set to build a 102,000 square-foot facility on the north side of DSCR. The $30 million project will serve as the National Guard state headquarters.
