Medical supply chain sweeps DLA Troop Support annual awards

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Medical team is walking a little taller after sweeping the organization’s three major annual award categories in recognition of their support to the nation in 2021. The awards recognized Thomas Heleniak, Medical Tailored Vendor Logistics Specialist, as Employee of the Year; the Operation Allies Welcome/Refuge group as Team of the Year; and Nora Steigerwalt, director of Customer Operations, as the Supervisor of the Year.

Oklahoma City commander thanks employees for their years of service

Oklahoma City — Air Force Col. Jason Kalin took command of DLA Aviation at Oklahoma City in August and said he was excited to be a part of the team noting their strong work ethic and dedication. From September to October, Kalin reached to out to 61 employees to recognize their length of service and outstanding performance.

PHILADELPHIA — As the Defense Logistics Agency continues supporting COVID-19 efforts across the globe, DLA Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Gavin Lawrence recognized employees maintaining the mission and meeting new requirements June 30 during a virtual performance review. “Our warfighters and other customers have continued to be recipients of your dynamic support and superior service,” Lawrence told employees who’ve spent the past four months teleworking.

Troop Support staff office ‘steps into the breach,’ thanked by commander

PHILADELPHIA — Four acquisition professionals from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support were recognized for their teamwork and accomplishments Feb. 6 in Philadelphia. Joan Estelly, Raeshon Falkowski, Eileen Friel and Nate Prattico, all from DLA Troop Support’s Procurement Directorate, received certificates of appreciation and a command coin from DLA Troop Support Commander Army Brig.
