Marines, engineers conduct a first-of-its-kind 3D printing exercise

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Marine Corps Systems Command website — Marines from Marine Corps Systems Command and 7th Engineer Support Battalion along with engineers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Engineering Research Laboratory conducted the first known 3D concrete printing operation with a three-inch print nozzle at the CERL headquarters in early August in Champaign, Illinois.

MCSC teams with Marines to build world’s first continuous 3D-printed concrete barracks

MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Marine Corps Systems Command website — The Marine Corps is leading the way in employing advanced technologies and robotic construction. Earlier this month, the Additive Manufacturing Team at Marine Corps Systems Command teamed up with Marines from I Marine Expeditionary Force to operate the world's largest concrete 3D printer at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center in Champaign, Illinois.

Concrete partnership showcased during airfield construction

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Misawa Air Base website — Usually the Misawa Air Base community hears the roaring of the F-16 Fighting Falcons, but since early May, the sounds of jack hammers and construction machines fill the air as a makeover occurs on the flight line.
