Airmen, Soldiers practice emergency response during DLA fuel spill prevention, response training

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Whiteman Air Force Base website — Fuel is the lifeblood of the mission, but spills directly threaten ground water and the environment at large. To better prepare for emergencies, members of the 509th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 509th Civil Engineer Squadron and the U.S. Army’s 1-135th Assault Helicopter Battalion participated in a DLA Energy fuel spill exercise, July 21-22.

Seven materiel management Airmen from Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, visited the 509th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Whiteman AFB this month as part of a two-day Airman exchange program.
