Feeding the force: How DLA delivers quality, safe, nutritious meals to America’s warfighters

PHILADELPHIA — When it comes to the nutritional quality of military meals, one thing remains constant: feeding America’s military is not just a logistics function — it’s a readiness mission.

Soldiers with the 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado, participate in the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center annual ration field trials in July 2016. DLA veterinarians inspect military food supplies, supervise operational ration assembly plants, as well as supply and distribution points, and they approve food sources around the world.
