New pilot allows online renewal of some IDs, civilian retiree IDs no longer issued

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — A new pilot program allows family members of active duty, reserve and retired service members to renew their Uniformed Services ID card online, and IDs for DOD civilian retirees will no longer be issued.

Installation Support enforces Real ID Act for Virginia license holders beginning July 10

Richmond, Virginia — Employees following the Real ID Act implementation for family members whose only ID is issued by Virginia need to know that the extension issued for Virginia by the Department of Homeland Security expired June 6. Virginia is one of several states currently non-compliant with the Act.
