Puerto Rico power grid re-energizes with DLA-provided materials

PHILADELPHIA — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers led the restoration mission and the Defense Logistics Agency played a key supporting role providing materials required for the rebuilding efforts.

Luis Pena serves as the lone full-time civil servant for the Defense Logistics Agency in Puerto Rico. He helps military units shed their excess and used equipment and gets rid of their scrap metal. Here, he evaluates the pending scrap removal demands at Camp Santiago, which was one of the island's military installations hardest hit by Hurricane Maria in 2017.

Power Restoration Remains Top Concern In Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands
