Naval aviation depots improving aircraft production

The Naval Air Systems Command's Fleet Readiness Centers have eliminated the backlog of aircraft awaiting depot-level repairs and met production goals for the last two years, according to Martin Ahmad, deputy commander, Fleet Readiness Centers.

No one expected to be stranded at DLA Distribution Tobyhanna for 30 hours from Friday, March 2, to Saturday, March 3, 2018. However, no one expected 23.6 inches of snow, high winds and closed highways and roads.

Troop Support provides Easter, Passover support to service members across globe

DLA Troop Support provides annual religious support to service members across the globe for the Easter and Passover holidays. This year, Troop Support provided more than 170,000 pounds of food, 11,000 Meals, Ready-to-Eat and 115 orders of palm, wine, Jewish ceremonial Seder kits and ashes.

TRANSCOM/DLA partnership results in transportation contract improvements

On February 12, DLA Distribution began utilizing one of the largest logistics contracts ever awarded by the U.S. government. The Defense Freight Transportation Services (DFTS) contract, a long-awaited collaboration between the United States Transportation Command and DLA Distribution, launched as an upgrade to the Defense Transportation Coordination Initiative (DTCI), which aimed to provide a single touch point for DoD shipments by allowing a commercial third party firm to manage and coordinate transportation.

International Leadership course conducts annual visit to DLA Distribution

Students enrolled in the Navy Supply Corps School’s International Leadership Executive Advanced Development course visited DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania on March 20 to discuss the organization’s mission capabilities and tour the Department of Defense’s largest distribution facility.
