Red River’s Expeditionary team assists hurricane victims

RED RIVER, Texas — The DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, Expeditionary team makes up one-third of the DLA Distribution Expeditionary team. The other two-thirds are located at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania and DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California.

Installation Support hosts Preparedness Training

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — In support of National Preparedness Month, DLA Installation Support at Susquehanna’s Security and Emergency Services conducted a Preparedness Training session at DLA Distribution headquarters on September 19.

Distribution Warner Robins aids cot storage and distribution mission in support of Hurricane Irma

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — When DLA Distribution Warner Robins, Georgia, received the call that the Georgia Army National Guard’s 277th Maintenance Company needed assistance receiving and storing cots slated for Hurricane Irma evacuees, the answer was a resounding yes.

DLA employees are required annually to complete the COOP Employee Awareness Course, accessed in their Learning Management System account, to ensure mission essential functions will be performed in the event of a catastrophic event.

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency employees are required annually to complete the Continuity of Operations Employee Awareness Training to ensure mission essential functions will be performed in the event of a catastrophic event.

Approximately 60-70 percent of the existing roof at DLA Distribution Corpus Christi’s administrative building is blown off and roof drains, intake vents and smoke hatches are damaged from Hurricane Harvey’s winds that swept across Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.

DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas Bounces Back from Hurricane Harvey

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas is bouncing back from wind damage sustained from Hurricane Harvey, a category-4 hurricane that formed in the Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in southeastern Texas with wind speeds of up to 130 miles per hour. In the days following the hurricane, rain added another element of destruction to the already damaged area.

Members of the DLA Distribution Expeditionary team provided critical support to USNORTHCOM and FEMA by loading over 14,800 Commercial Meals and 11,760 liters of bottled water onto Texas National Guard and U.S. Border Patrol CH-47, UH-60, and UH-1 aircraft at Randolph Auxiliary Airfield in Seguin, Texas.

Distribution Transportation Team ensures meals, water and other supplies delivered to those affected by hurricanes

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — Every March, the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Headquarters Transportation Team works with Surface Deployment and Distribution Command on DLA/FEMA requirements to prepare a solicitation to the carrier industry for disaster support rates. When FEMA requirements are sent, the team utilizes the carriers and rates from this solicitation to quickly position supplies at the FEMA staging locations.

DLA Distribution welcomes new Future Operations deputy

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — United States Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Christopher R. Zegley has assumed the position of deputy director, DLA Distribution Future Operations division.
