C&E employee receives award during Navy EOD customer visit

PHILADELPHIA — Three DLA Troop Support employees recently saw how their work impacts the explosive ordnance disposal customers they support.

Quartermaster soldiers set up a fuel station in Camp Pendleton, Calif., as part of Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise 2014. QLLEX is a joint forces exercise that 64 units at eight locations across the continental U.S. will deliver more than 3.25 million gallons of petroleum and produce 479,000 gallons of water, designed to challenge and develop the battalion's staff military decision making skills. Energy personnel support QLLEX

FORT MCCOY, Wisconsin — Defense Logistics Agency Energy personnel have deployed to multiple states in support of the Army’s annual bulk petroleum and bulk water exercise, June 7-20.

The Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock pulls alongside the U.S. flagged tanker Maersk Peary to participate in a consolidated cargo exercise, the first in more than ten years.

DLA expands refueling capability and Pacific resiliency

In support of Pacific Command warfighter requirements, Defense Logistics Agency Energy and Military Sealift Command revived a long-standing capability for delivering fuel to the fleet for the first time in more than a decade.

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — The program analysis master planning branch chief for Defense Logistics Agency Energy is leading the effort to implement a tablet- and desktop-based remote interpretive service for deaf employees across the agency.

May is Military Appreciation Month, and the workforce will have the opportunity to “remember” the warfighter. The workforce may take this time to show appreciation to military servicemembers, their victories and sacrifices.

U.S. Service members with the Joint Task Force 505 prepare boxes of aid and relief supplies to be loaded onto an aircraft at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal, May 14, in order for the supplies to be delivered to remote locations during Operation Sahayogi Haat. JTF 505 along with other multinational forces and humanitarian relief organizations are currently in Nepal providing aid after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the country, April 25 and a 7.3 earthquake on May 12. PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Department’s Better Buying Power 3.0 initiative applies to every DLA supply chain and the vendors they work with, the Defense Logistics Agency’s director told medical industry and military service partners May 12 in Philadelphia.

SPRINGFIELD, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Energy held a pre-proposal conference to discuss new tools and the opportunity for alternative fuels in the Rocky Mountain/West Coast/Offshore 2015 purchase program solicitation at the Hilton Springfield Hotel in Springfield, Virginia, April 29.

DLA Troop Support delivers during its first wildland fire season

PHILADAELPHIA — On the eve of the 2014 wildland fire season, warehouse shelves at the Northern California Interagency Support Cache were packed with goggles, hand tools and hoses. More than $7 million worth of materials were stocked as a buffer as DLA took over management of those items one month before the season started.

DLA Troop Support Pacific supported Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan with a new rubber track, repairs on their bleachers and updated bathroom fixtures. Kubasaki is a Department of Defense Education Activity school for department civilians located on a Marine camp.
