DLA Aviation expedites part, enabling USS Nimitz to make on time deployment schedule

RICHMOND, Va. — While the rest of the world seems to be shutting down, Defense Logistics Agency employees are ramping up their efforts in support of our nation’s ever-evolving warfighting mission.

Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is managing a $3.28 million restoration of Bellwood Manor House at the military supply depot in Richmond, Virginia. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978. Restoration work is expected to begin later this month and the project should be completed in a year. Bellwood Manor House set for $3.28M renovation

NORFOLK, Va. — The historic Bellwood Manor House at Defense Supply Center Richmond is getting a face-lift. Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $3.28 million contract to Facility Support Services for renovation of the house, which was built between 1790 and 1804 and is listed as a national and state landmark.

DLA PaCE Program celebrates 20 years of excellence

RICHMOND, VA — Over the last three weeks, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Public Affairs has run a series of stories spotlighting the DLA Pathways to Career Excellence (PaCE) Program and the experiences of those who are just beginning the program, those halfway through and those who have successfully graduated. Today, we conclude the series profiling two recent graduates who came up through the program together: Jennifer Williams, contracting specialist, Aviation Engines and Airframes Division and Andrew Collins, acquisitions specialist, Joint Commodities Division, both within the Supplier Operations Commodities Directorate, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation.

Agency acquisition employees continue professional development virtually

Fort Belvoir, Va. — DLA acquisition employees are continuing professional development during the COVID-19 pandemic with virtual instruction by Defense Acquisition University. More than 200 employees – over 50 from DLA Energy – have completed DAU training since the university converted some of its face-to-face courses to online instruction March 23.

DLA helps Army keep aircraft sanitized during COVID-19

RICHMOND, VA — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is providing disinfectants to keep the Army’s fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft sanitized during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Members of DLA’s rapid deployment Red Team brave the gas chamber to conduct a functions test on personal protective equipment during nuclear, biological and chemical training at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, Jan. 16-20.

RICHMOND, Va. — Three Defense Logistics Agency Rapid Deployment Teams stand ready to help military and federal agencies supporting global emergencies like humanitarian assistance and pandemic response. USNS Supply Refuels Italian Ship in Mediterranean Sea

DLA contracted fuel barge rescues two women in Pensacola Bay

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — A DLA Energy contracted fuel barge tow rescued two female jet skiers who were found exhausted, cold and terrified after being adrift in the water for several hours in the Pensacola Bay April 25.
