DLA Aviation “purple” reserve forces answering the call

Defense Logistics Agency Joint Reserve Force is headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. According to its webpage, more than 670 reservists - soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines – are assigned to nearly every DLA organization across the United States, including Hawaii, and Europe.

Joint Base San Antonio privatizes base utilities

A new 50-year fixed-price utilities privatization contract will upgrade Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, electric and natural gas distribution systems and improve installation mission readiness. In the privatization process, military installations shift from the role of owner operators to utility service customers.

Active shooter awareness training held at DSCR

Note: This training was held a few days before active shooter situations in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, left 31 people dead and more than 50 injured in less than 24 hours. Nine people killed when a gunman opened fire inside a church in Charleston, South Carolina. Twenty students and six staff members killed after a 20-year old man shot them inside Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. A night of partying at Pulse Night Club in Orlando, Florida, turned tragic on June 12, 2016 when a man walked in and opened fire, killing 49 and injuring close to 60 more.
