Fort Campbell privatizes electrical distribution system

Army’s Fort Campbell in Kentucky got a new owner for its electrical distribution system thanks to a Defense Logistics Agency Energy utilities privatization contract award. Beginning Nov. 10, City Light & Power, Inc. owns, operates and maintains the installation’s system with plans to improve infrastructure, modernize equipment and develop standardized electrical distribution practices.

Becoming a Change Agent

Becoming a change agent in the midst of acquisition reform was the theme of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Supply Chain Integration Dee Reardon’s visit to the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Oct. 25. During the mentoring session, Reardon shared seven points of advice based on her personal experience as a change agent.

The results of the Defense Logistics Agency 2018 Denison Culture Climate Survey are in, and the findings illustrate noticeable progress. While DLA received its highest ever Enterprise-wide score of 66 with improvements in all 12 indices, DLA Energy-specific results showed an even bigger improvement with an average index score of 83, up 22 points since the last time the survey was conducted in 2016.

Family trees planted firmly around DLA Aviation - Richmond

As I sat down to write this article, a catchy tune came to mind, Sly and the Family Stone’s “Family Affair." I started thinking about the different family tree dynamics here at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation in Richmond, Virginia. I unearthed, with the help of some who’ve been around a lot longer than this boy, during the interviewing process; husbands and wives, three generations and in-laws.
