National Disability Employment Awareness Month celebrated at DSCR

Richmond, Va. — The National Disability Employment Awareness Month Program kicked off October 18 in the Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center, Richmond, Virginia. Guest speaker, retired Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Kathy Tilbury, a program management analyst with Defense Logistics Agency’s Office of Research and Resource Analysis, spoke about how adaptive sports have restored her ability to be an athlete.

October is Energy Awareness Month. An Energy Month Fair will be held on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, Oct. 19, 2016 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Center Restaurant to provide employees information about energy conservation and efficiency.

The Department of Energy has published a list of actions individuals can take in their workplaces to conserve energy and help achieve a healthier environment. DLA Rapid Deployment Team leads agency in support for Haiti relief

A DLA Rapid Deployment Team and personnel from across the agency recently deployed to Haiti to provide a range of services, supplies, expertise and infrastructure as the agency assists in disaster relief following Hurricane Matthew.

DLA Energy contracted 25 fuel trucks in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Incident Support Base at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia, to support anticipated Hurricane Matthew relief operations.The trucks brought more than 123,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel to MCLB Albany Oct. 6.
