Supplier Operations director assumes role of acting deputy commander

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — Gabby Earhardt assumed the role of Defense Logistics Agency Energy acting deputy commander following the departure of former DLA Energy Deputy Commander George Atwood Nov. 28.

Sometime in the 1940s, submarines await deployment at what is now DLA Distribution's facility in Yokosuka, Japan.

Commentary: History comes full circle at Yokosuka

As Dec. 7 marks the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, in which nearly 2,500 U.S. military members and civilians were killed, DLA honors their memory with a commentary from a current Navy sailor serving with DLA in Japan.

DLA Energy Commander visits Australia, Pacific commands

AZUMA, Japan — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin addressed the Australia Fuel Symposium as a guest of the Australian Defense Force Fuel Services Branch Oct. 25.

Since the official kick-off for the Combined Federal Campaign on Oct. 3, the Defense Logistics Agency has reached more than 30 percent of its fundraising goal of $315,000.

CFC fundraising drive off to strong start for DLA Headquarters, DLA Energy

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — DLA organizations in the Washington, D.C., area are outpacing the rest of the Defense Department in the annual Combined Federal Campaign.

Troop Support Pacific provides mobile galley to Pearl Harbor sailors

PHILADELPHIA — A Navy submarine crew was one of the first to enjoy fresh meals served from a new mobile galley at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam that was purchased through DLA Troop Support.

DLA Rapid Deployment Team leads agency in support for Haiti relief

A DLA Rapid Deployment Team and personnel from across the agency recently deployed to Haiti to provide a range of services, supplies, expertise and infrastructure as the agency assists in disaster relief following Hurricane Matthew.

Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Force Civil Engineer Center website — The Defense Logistics Agency awarded a utilities privatization contract to Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, or CHELCO, to own, operate and maintain the electrical system infrastructure at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida for 50 years.

DLA Energy contracted 25 fuel trucks in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Incident Support Base at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia, to support anticipated Hurricane Matthew relief operations.The trucks brought more than 123,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel to MCLB Albany Oct. 6.
