DLA Troop Support earns award for supporting National Guard, Reserve employees
PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support was honored with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s “Above and Beyond Award,” presented by ESGR Chair Emeritus retired Army Maj. Gen. Wesley Craig Oct. 7, in Philadelphia, for their outstanding support of National Guard and reserve members employed by the organization.

Industrial Hardware realignment brings strength, resilience of team to DLA partners
PHILADELPHIA — Although the Industrial Hardware supply chain was officially disestablished by the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia effective October 1, the talent and energy of the workforce that managed the 937 thousand items remains unchanged. The warfighter support for hardware continues through other DLA offices, and the energy and talent of more than 400 employees is shared throughout the organization.

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support dedicated its headquarters building in Northeast Philadelphia in honor of local historical figure as a symbol of its workforce during a dedication ceremony Sept. 23, 2021 in Philadelphia. DLA Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Eric P. Shirley presided over the ceremony honoring Whelen, Purveyor of Public Supplies in Philadelphia from 1800-1806 and former proprietor of Nitre Hall in Haverford, relating his description of duties in preparations for the Lewis and Clark Expedition to the modern workforce and the 222 years of logistics excellence rooted in the city.
