DLA motorcyclists share tips for riders, drivers to keep each other safe on the road

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and a few Defense Logistics Agency motorcyclists share their thoughts on what bikers and drivers can do to keep everyone safe on the road.

Distribution police chief Douglas Schraeder thanked everyone who gathered to show their respect for the men and women who have died in the line of duty nationwide at the National Police Week wreath laying ceremony on May 18.

Distribution police officers honor National Police Week with ceremony

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — The Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Police Force hosted a wreath laying ceremony to pay tribute to local, state, and Federal peace officers who have died in the line of duty on May 18, in the base chapel. Each year, our nation loses between 140-160 law enforcement officers in the line of duty.

Studevant selected as DLA Aviation’s 2016 Hall of Fame inductee

RICHMOND, Virginia — Mary Studevant, former deputy director of what is now known as Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, has been selected for the 2016 DLA Aviation Hall of Fame. An induction ceremony will be at 1 p.m. June 16 in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Carrots, CrossFit part of agency day to promote health, safety

McNamara Headquarters Complex employees were treated to a wealth of wellness information and demonstrations at the 17th Annual Health and Safety Expo in the cafeteria, while some braved the rain to stock up on produce, hot sauce and baked goods at the Defense Logistics Agency Headquarters weekly farmers' market. Both events took place May 11.
