NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution’s office of Organizational Management and Expeditionary Directorate celebrated St. Patrick’s Day and office comradery with a traditional chili cook-off on Mar. 14, as part of the DLA Climate Culture.

FY2016 DLA Distribution Training Coordinators On-Site Academy

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution’s Organizational Management Division together with the Material Logistics Training Division and Forward Presence Training Team presented a unique opportunity for 32 training coordinators from a majority of the 24 distribution centers to come together for an on-site academy which commenced on March 8 for three days.

Nicole Byrd, who is Level II certified in contracting, is featured in the fourth video in the series highlighting DLA acquisition professionals.

RICHMOND, Virginia — A new acquisition professionals video focusing on a DLA Aviation employee in the program management acquisition career field was released on DLA's YouTube and Facebook sites March 16.

DLA supervisor shares deployment experience as resiliency lesson

RICHMOND, Virginia — A DLA Aviation supervisor recently shared her experiences from her 2015 deployment to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, where she served for six months as the DLA Support Team deputy commander.

DLA, AFRICOM extend partnership

Stuttgart, Germany — DLA and U.S. Africa Command in February signed a three-year agreement that outlines and extends DLA's support to the regional command.

The Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, JID Inventory Team, which includes 17 U.S. civil service and Japanese master labor contract employees, has been awarded the Commander’s Mission Impact Team of the Quarter award for first quarter, fiscal year 2016.

DLA Aviation keeps F/A-18 jets soaring

RICHMOND, Virginia — F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets, flown by Navy and Marine Corps pilots, have patrolled U.S. and international airspace for more than 30 years — and will likely keep flying well into the future, with the help of a special DLA Aviation team.

YOKOSUKA, Japan — On a recent evening, Osamu Takaura, a cargo shipment clerk at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan’s, Sasebo detachment, happened upon an apartment in his neighborhood where he noticed black smoke coming from the roof.

Army, DLA officials plan way ahead for equipment reductions, sustained readiness

The Pentagon, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency leaders outlined how the agency will continue assisting the Army as it removes more than 2 million pieces of equipment from its inventory, during an Army/DLA Day event at the Pentagon March 8.
