NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennyslvania — Peter Blazevic, lead supply technician in the Special Commodities Branch of the bulk division at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the Week for the week of April 25 to 29.

MANAMA, Bahrain — Army Col. Wayne J. Bondy Jr., deputy director of Disposition Services, visited DLA Distribution Bahrain on April 20. He was accompanied by disposition area manager, Tony Cameron and operations officer, Army Capt. Jason Arikian from Disposition Services Central, Kuwait.

DLA Troop Support employee featured in new video

A new acquisition professionals video focusing on a DLA Troop Support employee was released on the organization’s YouTube and Facebook sites April 27.

Airman 1st Class Michael Schulz, 341st Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle management flight mechanic, changes the oil of a government vehicle March 22, 2016, at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont. Schulz was one of two Airmen tasked with changing the oil of six vehicles which will be testing a new bio-based synthetic oil which could potentially help the Air Force’s initiative to use more sustainable materials and be environmentally conscious.

Sign language interpreter training focuses on Middle Eastern culture

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Equal Employment Opportunity Office hosted a Federal Interpreter Training Workshop April 8 in Chester, Virginia.

Urgency drives DLA Puget Sound team in maintaining ballistic-missile submarines

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The design of the Ohio-class submarine allows the vessel to operate 15 or more years between major overhauls. On average, the submarines spend 77 days at sea followed by only 35 days in-port for maintenance, creating urgency for on-shore personnel who must ensure the vessel is ready when called back to action.

C-130 parts delivered on time, every time by DLA Distribution Warner Robins

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia — More than half the work completed at DLA Distribution Warner Robins, Ga., is in support of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center. The organization's inventory includes parts and equipment for F-15, C-130, C-5 and C-17 aircraft, target acquisition systems, and most airborne electronic warfare systems.

DLA employees and teams were recently honored for their achievements in helping the agency achieve its strategic goals.

DLA Distribution celebrates Earth Day 2016

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection and sustainability. Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year.

CAMP CARROLL, Korea — Sang-Hwan So, a supply technician inspector at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Korea, retired after 43 years of federal service, eight of which have been with DLA Distribution Korea in March 2016.

King’s ship sets sail after more than 30 years in the Navy

COLUMBUS, Ohio — After more than 30 years serving as a naval officer, outgoing Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Admiral John King King officially retired and is transitioning to the next chapter in his life. “It’s just been unbelievable how fast my time here at Land and Maritime has flown by and I have to tell you I’ve been extremely fortunate to work with such an inspired group of professionals,” said King.
