Charity campaign manager ensures agency finishes strong

DLA colleagues gathered around the McNamara Headquarters Complex pond at the agency’s Fort Belvoir, Virginia, headquarters to show support for and celebrate successful Combined Federal Campaign efforts in 2019. The campaign ends Jan. 12, but it's not too late for DLA employees to donate to thousands of worthy charitable causes.

Defense Logistics Agency Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell K. Williams delivered the commencement address to graduates of the four-month long Army Command and General Staff Officers Course at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Dec. 19. The students were comprised of 118 mid-career Army officers and one civilian from diverse professional military backgrounds.

Former Marine remembers, pays tribute to those far from home during the holidays

As an equipment program manager with DLA Distribution Current Operations, retired Marine Maj. Paul Smith decided this year’s tribute to those deployed in harm’s way would be in the form a patriotic display in the third-floor lobby of the organization’s New Cumberland headquarters. There he and his co-workers created a display that includes an artificial holiday tree, miniature flags representing all military service branches and lights to set the whole thing off.
