Sailor receives meritorious advancement at DLA Maritime Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii — Navy Logistics Specialist 2nd Class (Surface Warfare/Aviation Warfare) Matthew J. Fernandez of Defense Logistics Agency Maritime Pearl Harbor received a meritorious advancement to Logistics Specialist 1st Class (SW/AW) from Cmdr. Thomas Marszalek, DLA Maritime Pearl Harbor Detachment Director, on July 31. Fernandez was pinned by his wife, LS2 Rosalba Fernandez and their 4-year-old daughter, Kayla.

PaCE graduates celebrate the journey and start a new path at DLA

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Logistics Agency Pathways to Career Excellence Program graduation marked the end of one path and the start of another for 120 graduates on July 31 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus.

Ceremony honors McClaugherty’s 47-year service career

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Inside an auditorium filled to standing room capacity, more than 500 DLA associates, family members and friends gathered to say goodbye to DLA Land and Maritime Deputy Commander James McClaugherty at his July 20th retirement ceremony.

Williams holds first town hall at Land and Maritime as agency director

COLUMBUS, Ohio — When Defense Logistics Agency Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell Williams addressed the audience at Defense Supply Center Columbus during his first Town Hall as DLA director, he was in familiar territory.

DLA Land and Maritime senior leaders gathered in the Defense Supply Center Columbus Operations Center conference room June 29 to formally receive the 2016 Commander In Chief’s Award for Installation Excellence. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in several areas of installation management including quality of life, unit morale, energy conservation, environmental stewardship, safety and mission support.

Land and Maritime receives award for installation excellence

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime received the Commander in Chief’s Award for installation excellence during a video teleconference ceremony June 29.

Defense Supply Center Columbus personnel stack donations of canned foods during the annual Feds Feed Families campaign. Each year, donations from federal employees support the Mid-Ohio Food Bank's Operation Feed food drive, bringing essential items to central Ohio families in need.

Feds Feed Families returns to DSCC

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The 2017 Feds Feed Families campaign returns for its ninth year June 28. This year’s goal for DSCC is to exceed 30,500 pounds of food items for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Supply Center Columbus celebrated the 242nd U.S. Army’s birthday with an obstacle course and cake cutting ceremony June 14.

Land and Maritime review identifies efficiencies to improve overall agency productivity

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A team of subject matter experts completed an intensive, week-long internal review at Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime to identify best practices to apply across the agency.

Members of the Level II mentoring program 2017 class along with their mentors and the DLA Land and Maritime Command Group following their May 24 graduation ceremony at Defense Supply Center Columbus. The group of 69 mentees is the largest mentoring class in the program’s history.

Factory tour shows how an Abrams comes to life

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A lot has changed at the Lima Army Tank Plant since the first combat vehicles rolled off its assembly line nearly 75 years ago. During World War II, the Ohio installation had more than 5,000 employees and processed tens of thousands of vehicles for overseas shipment.

Land and Maritime honors its 2017 Hall of Fame class

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Seven associates representing 153 years of service to the nation’s warfighters were honored with Land and Maritime’s highest tribute with their induction into the Land and Maritime 2017 Hall of Fame Class.

School garden at the DSCC Child Development Center helps kids learn better and eat healthier.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — School is almost out for the summer, but the children in the Kindergarten Preparatory class at Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Child Development Center just dug into a summer project – a garden with vegetables and flowers.

EMS week is May 21 - 27. This year's theme: "EMS Strong: Always in Service," is a reminder of how committed EMTs and paramedics are to the tough work that requires passion, purpose and heart to carry out well every day, often in difficult circumstances.
