The Defense Supply Center Columbus is finalizing an enhanced visitor clearance system that will improve installation security and increase efficiencies for visitors requesting entrance to the installation. This new process will be implemented beginning Aug. 1, 2020.

The Department of Defense announced June 2 that U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Kristen Fabry, director of logistics, fleet supply and ordnance for U.S. Pacific Fleet, will succeed Rear Adm. John Palmer as commander of the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime.

America’s Army: When We are Needed, We are There

Let us all join in a moment of reflection and celebration in honor of the U.S. Army’s 245th Birthday, which was celebrated on Sunday, June 14. The U.S. Army was officially created on June 14, 1775, over a year prior to the Declaration of Independence, when Congress approved the raising of six companies of riflemen to enlist in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia until the end of the Revolutionary War. The Army has grown in size and capability since its humble beginnings in the nation’s struggle for independence against Great Britain and is now the largest branch of the U.S. military.
