Land and Maritime experts engage with government, academia, industry at GSVETS conference

NOVI, Michigan — The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime participated in the 14th annual Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering and Technology Symposium in Novi, Michigan Aug. 16-18.

The light blue shallow water platforms of the Bahamas, which are separated by very deep dark blue channels, make for a striking scene. The Bahamas are one of the few regions where calcium carbonate precipitates directly out of the water, as the mineral aragonite, to form the coral reef islands.

Land and Maritime Resolution Specialist renders National Anthem at state women veterans conference

COLUMBUS, Ohio — If anyone has attended a Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime event lately either virtually or in person, they have heard the vocal stylings of resolution specialist Lisa Griffin singing the National Anthem. Griffin has been a staple at these events for years and has sung for groups large and small.

Classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 inducted into the Land and Maritime Hall of Fame in joint ceremony

COLUMBUS, Ohio — This year's DLA Land and Maritime Hall of Fame ceremony was the first ceremony to be held since the pandemic began, the first to induct multiple classes at once and the first to have an all women class inducted since the Hall’s inception in 2005.

Cmdr. John Mullen takes command as father and former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff watches

COLUMBUS, Ohio — “I remember it was his change of command day for the USS Yorktown, CG 48, It was 1991 or 1992, I was 12 or 13, and he got up there and had just assumed command. He was giving his opening speech to the crew and made a comment, ‘I am going to make the USS Yorktown better when I leave than when I took over.’” Cmdr. John S. COLUMBUS, Ohio — The sun was shining, birds chirping, and the bumblebees were buzzing amid the cacophony of little voices from seven pre-K classes as they took turns to bring their garden to life after a long winter’s sleep in front of the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Child Development Center June 8. The garden serves as an experiential learning experience and is an extension of the curriculum provided in the classroom.
