DSCC commander to honor fallen at Bexley Memorial Day event

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Commander U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Kristen Fabry will be the keynote speaker for the City of Bexley’s annual Memorial Day service May 30. Bexley is a neighboring community of the Defense Supply Center Columbus military installation. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Drexel Circle.

DSCC named Tree City USA for the fourth consecutive year

Defense Supply Center Columbus was named a Tree City USA for the fourth consecutive year at the annual Tree City USA Awards Presentation on April 21 in the Schnormeier Event Center in Ariel-Foundation Park in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. The all-day event was attended by representatives from 45 communities across 15 counties in Central Ohio.

Pinwheel Parade educates, raises awareness of effects of child abuse

A sense of normalcy was in the chilly morning air as the first Pinwheel Parade in two years stepped off from the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Child Development Center April 26. Children from the CDC hopped, walked, waddled and rode around the block waving their pinwheels escorted by DSCC Police, parents and CDC staff members.

Defense Supplier Conference returns to Columbus, Ohio

After a four-year hiatus, Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime and the National Defense Industry Association brought the DLA Land and Maritime Supplier Conference and Exhibition back to downtown Columbus, Ohio, April 6-7. More than 800 defense industry representatives packed a ballroom in the Greater Columbus Convention Center for first day speakers, including Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment Steven Morani, DLA Director Navy Vice Adm. Michelle Skubic, and DLA Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Adm. Kristen Fabry.

Resiliency, The Strength of a People...Never Forget: Celebrating European American Month and Holocaust Remembrance Day

April is the month we set aside time to recognize European Americans, specifically those European Jews murdered or marginalized by Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. This year’s theme is “Resiliency, The Strength of a People…Never Forget.”  The Holocaust was a genocide that refers specifically to the attempted annihilation of European Jews by Nazi Germany and its collaborators. Annual remembrances ensure we never forget.
