DLA Aviation at Oklahoma City celebrates change of command and retirement

Richmond, Virginia — Employees at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Oklahoma City celebrated two ceremonies, the organization’s change of command and Col. Kenton Ruthardt’s retirement, June 23.

Brothers-in-arms retire together at DSCR

Richmond, Virginia — June 22, at high noon on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, was a special time for two Army officers as they marked the end of their collective 52-years of service in the Army during a combined retirement ceremony in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center.

Media invited to attend DLA Aviation change of command ceremony

RIchmond, Va. — Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day will relinquish command of the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation to Air Force Brig. Gen. Linda Hurry in a formal change of command ceremony at 10 a.m., June 28 at the Defense Supply Center Richmond’s Frank B. Lotts Conference Center.

July is the peak month for grill fires. Roughly half of the injuries involving grills are thermal burns. The National Fire Protection Association provides free downloadable grilling safety tips on their website at NFPA.org.

Fire Prevention Office provides summer fire safety tips

Richmond, Va. — With the upcoming holidays and being outdoors, the Fire Prevention Office would like to share a few fire safety tips to help you during the upcoming summer season.

Defense Supply Center Columbus personnel stack donations of canned foods during the annual Feds Feed Families campaign. Each year, donations from federal employees support the Mid-Ohio Food Bank's Operation Feed food drive, bringing essential items to central Ohio families in need.

Feds Feed Families returns to DSCC

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The 2017 Feds Feed Families campaign returns for its ninth year June 28. This year’s goal for DSCC is to exceed 30,500 pounds of food items for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

DSCC celebrates the 242nd Army Birthday

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Supply Center Columbus celebrated the 242nd U.S. Army’s birthday with an obstacle course and cake cutting ceremony June 14.

Installation Support enforces Real ID Act for Virginia license holders beginning July 10

Richmond, Virginia — Employees following the Real ID Act implementation for family members whose only ID is issued by Virginia need to know that the extension issued for Virginia by the Department of Homeland Security expired June 6. Virginia is one of several states currently non-compliant with the Act.

Land and Maritime review identifies efficiencies to improve overall agency productivity

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A team of subject matter experts completed an intensive, week-long internal review at Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime to identify best practices to apply across the agency.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation-San Diego employees Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Angeli Legardye, right, Contract Specialist Nicole Johnson, left, and Management Analyst Karen Higdon, middle, sort through clothing donated by employees for local non-profit organizations to distribute to families in need. The program collects clothing for newborn to 1 year-old children of families who have been identified by local nurses and social service agencies.

San Diego’s culture committee teams up with local NPOs

San Diego — The Culture Committee at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation-San Diego collaborated with a local non-profit organization and held a clothing drive in May to provide baby items for newborn to 1-year-olds throughout San Diego County.
