DSCR’s CDC personnel transition to federal positions

The Bettye Ackerman-Cobb Child Development Center celebrated a reopening ceremony April 3, on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The CDC provides developmental care for the installation's military and civilian workforce's children from ages six weeks to five years. The CDC transitioned from being under Bright Horizons management to now being under the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Directorate at Installation Support at Richmond.

DLA division uses parachutes, partnership to support humanitarian aid

DLA expanded its humanitarian efforts by teaming with agencies such as NORTHCOM and the USAID to help non-government organizations provide aid to those in need. DLA’s Whole of Government Division recently helped supply the World Food Programme by providing containers and parachutes in order to deliver food and supplies to Syrian refugees.

New military positions connecting processes at FRC’s

From October 2015 through February 2016, Navy Lt. Traci Irby backfilled a position at DLA Aviation at the Navy Fleet Readiness Center Southwest in San Diego. Little did anyone know it would end up being the catalyst for the permanent implementation of military junior officer positions to be placed at each of the FRC sites DLA Aviation supports.
