The Barn opens its doors once again

Richmond, Va. — After two years of renovations, the DSCR Community Center — also known as “The Barn” — is open and ready to welcome visitors once again. The 80-year-old structure at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, has hosted many recreational and professional functions including conferences, private and government ceremonies, and summer community programs.

Event puts creative spin on domestic violence awareness

A joint venture between Defense Logistics Agency Installation Operations Richmond and the U.S. Army Reserve 80th Training Command, Spin for the Cause encourages physical and mental fitness to help overcome obstacles and gain empowerment.

DSCC associate saves life on commute home

It was dark outside and he was focused on ensuring the safety of the witnesses. This is when he noticed the car on flames and heard someone was still inside, he immediately went into response mode – trying to figure out how to save the driver.

Benjamin “Gil” Perkins inducted as the 2018 Hall of Fame recipient

Richmond, Va. — For his dedicated service and contributions to Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, Benjamin “Gil” Perkins, former DLA Aviation chief counsel was inducted into the 2018 DLA Aviation Hall of Fame Sept. 27. Perkins retired in 2015 after 34 years of service.

Prepare to log in to your phone starting October 12

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime associates will soon experience changes to phone use as part of the Agency’s deployment of new telephone services. Starting Oct. 12, DLA Information Operations will implement the Extension Mobility feature for Enterprise Voice over Internet Protocol systems in Columbus – joining other DLA major subordinate commands to make the move in recent months. Some phone numbers are exempt from the roll out, including conference rooms, emergency services, command and other identified telephone lines.
