DPAA official talks challenges, progress in accounting for America’s missing

The Defense Federal Community commemorated Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Recognition Day Sept. 21 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. Since 1986, the third Friday in September is set aside to remember those taken prisoner or reported missing in America’s conflicts. This year’s featured speaker was Jack Kull, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s Strategic Coordinator for Southeast Asia.

DLA celebrates the Air Force’s 71st birthday!

Airmen and Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employees celebrated the Air Force’s 71st birthday Sept. 18, with a ceremony at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Air Force Commander Col. Terrence Kilgore, 345th Training Squadron, Fort Lee, Virginia, was the guest speaker. In his speech, he highlighted the Air Force’s 71st birthday theme: “American Airman … Wingman, Leader, Warrior.” He called the theme befitting for a service that encompasses all three character traits.

DLA Land and Maritime wraps up food drive, launches pledge campaign

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime and the Defense Supply Center Columbus recently showed community support through food drives and charitable giving. The DSCC workforce concluded a month-long food drive, collecting 9,143 pounds of goods that will go on to support more than 525,000 individuals in Central Ohio.
