For proper implementation, users must consult the detailed guidance and business rules contained within the applicable IC.
  • Governing Standards: All data elements are governed by the Accredited Standards Committee X12 (ASC X12) and the policies within DLM 4000.25, Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS). The ASC X12 is the governing source for X12, which is an electronic data interchange (EDI) standard.

Use N903 to provide a street address, PO box or other address information. Use N907 to provide additional address information. Where possible, attempt to cite the address in the form of a US Postal Service (USPS) mailing address. For shipments outside of the US, use 2/LQ01/1000 code 85 to identify the country."= 2. This is a non-standard mapping. The standard DLMS mapping for carrier identification is carried in the N1 segment at position 0800.

  945A N901 6L Agent Contract Number Use in Government Furnished Property (GFP)-related transactions to identify the procurement instrument identifier (PIID) applicable to the contract authorizing the contractor to have custody of Government Furnished Property (GFP) 1. Use in GFP-related transactions to identify the procurement instrument identifier (PIID) applicable to the contract authorizing the contractor to have custody of GFP. Use the legacy procurement instrument identification number (PIIN) pending transition to the PIID. 2. If GFP is authorized under a PIID call/order number (F in 9th position), provide the PIID call/order number in the PIID field. 3. Required for Air Force GFP accountability to identify the CICP’s contract number. 4. Authorized DLMS enhancement; see introductory DLMS note 4e. on IC cover page. Refer to ADC 1224.

  945A N901 86 Operation Number 1. Use to identify the Key Operation (KO) Number associated with the JO. 2. Authorized DLMS enhancement under DLA industrial activity support agreement. Refer to ADC 381.
  945A N901 87 Functional Category Use in lateral redistribution orders (LRO) to distinguish between LROs for consumable and reparable assets Use in LRO to distinguish between LROs for consumable (MILSTRIP Distribution Code 2) and reparable (MILSTRIP Distribution Code 3) assets. Enter value (2 or 3) in N902.

  945A N901 AH Agreement Number Use to identify the Depot Maintenance Inter-Service Support Agreement (DMISA) number when tracking in-process maintenance or materiel Use to identify the Depot Maintenance Inter-Service Support Agreement (DMISA) number for tracking "in-process" materiel.
  945A N901 CO Customer Order Number Use to identify the Customer Order Acceptance Record (COAR) applicable to the Job Order Number. 1. Use to identify the Customer Order Acceptance Record (COAR) applicable to the Job Order Number. 2. Authorized DLMS enhancement under DLA industrial activity support agreement. Refer to ADC 381 (or as applicable).
  945A N901 CT Contract Number A standard unique identification of a DoD procurement contract (contract number) that specifically differentiates one contract from all other contracts Use to identify the procurement instrument identifier (PIID) on shipments of GFM to the contractor. When GFM is authorized under a PIID call/order number (F in 9th position), provide the value in the PIID field. For Other Transaction (OT) agreements, the type of instrument (9th position of PIID) will be a 3 for Research OTs or 9 for Prototype and Production OTs. Refer to ADC 1161A or ADC 1420. This is the PIID authorizing shipment of GFP to the contractor perpetuated from the release order (e.g., the PIID under which the property was requisitioned).
  945A N901 DO Delivery Order Number Use to identify the Contract Delivery Order number 1. Use in conjunction with the PIIN (Code 6L) for GFP-related transactions to identify the legacy four position call/order number associated with the PIIN applicable to the contract authorizing the contractor to have custody of GFP. 2. Do not use for the PIID call/order number. The PIID call/order number is mapped to Code 6L. 3. Authorized DLMS enhancement; see introductory DLMS note 4e. on IC cover page. Refer to ADC 1224.
  945A N901 P4 Project Code 1. Use to identify the warehouse project code. For requisition project codes use qualifier 78 in 2/LQ01/1300. Refer to ADC 1379. 2. DLMS Enhancement; see introductory DLMS note 5a.
  945A N901 QJ Return Material Authorization Number Use to identify the paying activity’s carrier account number applicable to the identified carrier for the directed materiel release 1. Used to identify the carrier account number applicable to the identified carrier (2/N101/0800 Code CA) for the directed materiel release. (Field length = 10 positions). Refer to ADC 1164. 2. Authorized DLMS enhancement; see DLMS introductory note 4e.
  945A N901 TG Transportation Control Number (TCN) A 17-position alphanumeric assigned to control and manage every shipment unit throughout the transportation pipeline
  945A N901 TN Transaction Reference Number A unique number generated by the original submitter of a pre-defined transaction and assigned to any pre-defined information exchange within the department of defense The transaction reference number retains its identity for the life of the generated transaction Must use to identify the transaction number assigned to this transaction. This is the document number.
  945A N901 TT Terminal Code Use to identify the type of cluster being terminated Use only during legacy MILSTRIP-DLMS conversion processing to identify the point of embarkation for OCONUS shipments moving through the DTS, GBL/CBL, parcel post (except APO/FPO); and small package carrier shipments entering the DTS at the POE. During the transition period, transactions originating as MILSTRIP DIC Code AR, Materiel Release Confirmation, will carry the POE in this field due to the translator's inability to distinguish among code types. Refer to 2/LQ01/1000 qualifiers 36, Air Terminal Identifier Code, 37, Water Terminal Identifier, and 38, Consolidation and Containerization Point Code, for DLMS input.
  945A N901 W1 Disposal Turn-In Document Number Transaction number under which material was shipped to a DLA Disposition Services Field Office Use for disposal release confirmation and historical disposal release confirmation transactions to identify the DTID.
  945A N901 W3 Manufacturing Directive Number Use on shipments of GFM to the contractor.
  945A N901 WF Locally Assigned Control Number Use to identify the Assemblage Identification Number (AIN). Authorized DLMS migration enhancement. See DLMS introductory note 4e.
  945A N901 WO Work Order Number Number assigned by a maintenance facility identifying the repair requirement 1. Use to identify a maintenance work order number. 2. Authorized DLMS enhancement under DLA industrial activity support agreement. Refer to ADC 381.
  945A N901 WP Warehouse Pick Ticket Number Use to identify the picklist control number assigned to identify a specific job for which materials are being requisitioned and assembled together in support of planned maintenance 1. Use to identify the picklist control number assigned to identify a specific job for which materiel are assembled together in support of planned maintenance. 2. Cite the picklist control number in N903 due to field length. 3. Authorized DLMS enhancement under DLA industrial activity support agreement. Refer to ADC 381. 4. Used by the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) to identify the cost center assigned to a remote storage activity. Note: This is not the SFIS cost center. Refer to ADC 1379.
  945A N901 X9 Internal Control Number Use in CAV transactions to identify the unique contractor reference number assigned by the contractor.
  945A N901 AAE Previous Distributor Number Use to provide the warehouse storage location identifying the physical location of the materiel as it was reflected on the DSS record prior to requested action, i.e., pick location.
  945A N901 EVI Event Identification 1. Use for DLA Disposition Services Field Office materiel release advice for FMS requisitioned materiel with associated freeze action pending approval. This code is perpetuated from the MRO/RDO. The only applicable value for this transaction is Code F=Freeze action. Refer to ADC 1156. 2. Qualifier EVI is a migration code approved for use in X12 version 4030.
  945A N901 PWC Preliminary Work Candidate Number 1. Use to identify a Requisition Alert Document Number. 2. Authorized DLMS enhancement under DLA industrial activity support agreement. Refer to ADC 381.
  945A N901 SLI Secondary Location Identifier Use to request further segregation below line item 1. Use in combination with purpose code Z to request further segregation below line item. SLI cannot exceed 6 alpha/numeric characters. 2. A local code ‘SLI’ is established for use in the 945A, version 4030. A data maintenance action has been submitted for establishment of ‘SLI- Secondary Location Identifier’ in a future version.

The DTID Number is a unique number to identify property turned into a DLA Disposition Service Field Office. 2. Use in conjunction with the controlling document number for the transaction cited N901 code TN. When there is no Suffix Code associated with the controlling Document Number, enter the correlating DTID in the N907-02. If there is a Suffix Code, enter the DTID in the N907-04. Refer to ADC 466. 3.
