DLA COVID-19 Support

Troop Support team members earn Employee, Team, Supervisor of the Year Awards

May 7, 2021 - Reservists at Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support are helping monitor COVID-19 vaccine temperatures as the agency ships thousands of doses to Defense Department employees outside the continental United States and the deployed U.S. Navy Fleet amid warmer weather.

Philadelphia-based DoD agency delivers life-saving COVID-19 medical supplies to India

May 4, 2021 - A Philadelphia-based government agency is enabling support to India through the acquisition of medical supplies as part of the Defense Logistics Agency’s effort to help meet urgent health needs there. DLA Troop Support, located in northeast Philadelphia, worked with interagency partners to coordinate two shipments of supplies from Travis Air Force Base, California, April 28 and 29 that included 702,400 test kits and 84,000 N95 masks so far. A third shipment third with oxygen concentrators, additional test kits and N95 masks left April 30, and a fourth shipment is scheduled to arrive in India today. Planning is ongoing for additional flights to send more supplies.

Clothing and Textiles works overtime to support White House masks mission

May 3, 2021 - To provide more than 25 million cloth face masks to communities hard-hit by the pandemic, Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textiles team members expedited contracting processes and worked hundreds of overtime hours.

July 28 Update

DLA Disposition Services’ locations are currently undergoing a phased reopening approach.

As each site completes its mission essential/mission critical work, it will revert to the manning level of the current Reconstitution phase.

At present, most CONUS locations are beginning Phase 1 or are at Phase 2 with minimal manning.  CONUS locations are following guidance from US Northern Command regarding their status.

It is imperative that before visiting a Disposition Services location, users contact their respective site beforehand and obtain any relevant information prior to their visit or scheduling an appointment. Site contact information can be found by using the site locator tool.

 

 

Reduced Operations

Effective 30 March 2020 all DLA Disposition Services sites will be operating under mission essential status. 

 

Operations under the mission essential status will consist of the following:

  • Continue to support local customers when all apply:

    • Their mission is impacted and concurred with local leadership

    • Customer is not delivering from a high risk area

The above guidance is subject to change depending on the contemporary operating environment as we continue to provide support to the Warfighter.
