New Troop Support commander ‘delighted’ to be back in Philadelphia

With a dose of humor and a few nods to his hometown of Philadelphia, Army Brig. Gen. Gavin Lawrence introduced himself to DLA Troop Support workforce during his first town hall meeting as commander, on July 10. During the event, he discussed his personal and professional backgrounds, outlined his leadership philosophy and spoke about his vision for Troop Support’s future.

Subsistence employee ensures fresh produce for Comfort deployment

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence overcame the challenge of a lack of prime vendor support in the U.S. Southern Command region to support delivery of fresh produce to the USNS Comfort during a deployment from June thru November as it provides medical assistance in support of regional partners in the SOUTHCOM area.

Diversity, visibility, inclusion top DLA Troop Support Pride Month observance

Fifty years ago, during four hot summer days in New York City’s Greenwich Village, the Stonewall Riots sparked the LGBTQ movement that continues today. More than just a series of fights, marches, protests and arrests, the historic event planted the seeds for the movement of pride, acceptance, equality, visibility and empowerment that is still growing. Jonathan Lovitz, senior vice president of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, served as the keynote speaker for the LGBTQ Pride Month Observance June 20 at the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia.

Campaign of Learning event provides insight to industry future capabilities

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Campaign of Learning program held an event for employees to learn how industry partners' future operations and challenges they are facing affect supply chain current and future operations during an event June 17 in Philadelphia. “This event provided an open dialogue between several industry partners and senior leaders from each Troop Support supply chain,” Lauren Colabelli, DLA Troop Support J3/5 Marketing Analyst chief and event organizer, said. “Addressing challenges and discovering industry innovations as they apply to current and future battlefields was the main focus of this event.”
