Dorothy Jean Lohr, a DLA Aviation procurement analyst who began her career as a GS-4 secretary, became known to colleagues as the "Wizard of Policy," due to her integral role and expertise in automated acquisition. She will be inducted into the DLA Hall of Fame June 26.

Supplier reps attend largest Industry Days event to date

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Linda Hurry opened the first day of DLA Aviation Supplier Industry Days at the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The event held over two-days, May 29 – 30, invites industry business leaders and representatives to collaborate with DLA representatives on meeting warfighter needs.

According to the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians website, in 1974 President Gerald Ford authorized Emergency Medical Services Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. Back then, EMS was a new profession and practitioners had only just started to be recognized as a critical component of emergency medicine and the public health safety net. EMS is now firmly established as an essential public function and a vital component of the medical care continuum.
