DLA, VA enter partnership to improve veteran care

Washington, D.C. — Improving veteran care by centralizing the procurement of medical supplies is the goal of an interagency agreement between the Defense Logistics Agency and Department of Veterans Affairs signed at the VA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., Aug. 12.

621st CRW teams up with joint partners in 'Southeast Asia' for exercise

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center website — Nearly 1.6 million people are still trying to get their bearing after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake ravaged Southeast Asia. After a request for assistance from South Torbia, U.S. Transportation Command calls upon its premier response forces: 621st Contingency Response Wing, 689th Rapid Port Opening Element and the Defense Logistics Agency’s Rapid Deployment Team-Blue. This was the exercise scenario for Turbo Distribution 19-03, held July 18-24, 2019, at Contingency Operating Base Panther in North Vernon, Indiana.

Wyoming Army National Guard Soldiers gear up for combat lifesaving

Hospital Ship to Support Humanitarian Effort in Latin America

MIAMI — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Defense Department website — The Navy's Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort will deploy to Central America and South America in late September to begin a two-month humanitarian mission with stops in Colombia and elsewhere in the region.

86 MDSS keeps an eye on Ramstein medicine

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Ramstein Air Base website — When an Airman or dependent goes to the doctor, picks up a prescription at the pharmacy, or attends a self-aid buddy care course, they may not think about where the medication, supplies, and equipment come from to make all those things possible.

A loadmaster with the 6th Airlift Squadron directs 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron personnel toward a C-17 Globemaster III, which will transport cargo and 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron personnel to Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. to provide medical relief after Hurricane Harvey caused catastrophic floods in the states of Texas and Louisiana, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Aug. 30, 2017. The 375th LRS loaded 6.5 tons of medical supplies onto a C-17 Globemaster III for the nine-person medical team. The 375th AES crew, prepared to provide relief for 30 days, will be staged at Little Rock Air Force Base, where they will pick up high-priority patients from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and transport them to one of seven hospital locations across the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama.
