Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna hosts Force Protection Lecture Series

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna recently hosted a force protection lecture series which highlighted active shooter response teams, featuring guest speaker Derrick Boucher, FBI supervisory special agent-in-charge of the Philadelphia Division’s Harrisburg field office.

Former DLA Distribution commander United States Army Ret. Major General Kenneth L. Privratsky tours DLA Distribution’s Expeditionary operations alongside former deputy commander Phyllis Campbell, Senior Executive Service.

Blast from the Past: Distribution’s first commander returns

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — It’s been nearly two decades since United States Army Ret. Major General Kenneth L. Privratsky took the reins as the first commander of DLA Distribution, then known as Defense Distribution Center. But the legacy he left behind in his two years with the organization has lived on, as he witnessed during his Mar. 17 visit.

DLA supervisor shares deployment experience as resiliency lesson

RICHMOND, Virginia — A DLA Aviation supervisor recently shared her experiences from her 2015 deployment to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, where she served for six months as the DLA Support Team deputy commander.

Air Force Master Sgt. Antoinette Jones was named the Defense Logistics Agency Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year and is now in competition for the Office of the Secretary of Defense award.

March 14, 2016 — An airman with Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support who was selected as the DLA Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for fiscal 2015 represented the agency in the Department of Defense competition.

The Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, JID Inventory Team, which includes 17 U.S. civil service and Japanese master labor contract employees, has been awarded the Commander’s Mission Impact Team of the Quarter award for first quarter, fiscal year 2016.

YOKOSUKA, Japan — On a recent evening, Osamu Takaura, a cargo shipment clerk at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan’s, Sasebo detachment, happened upon an apartment in his neighborhood where he noticed black smoke coming from the roof.
