DLA Energy provides fuel for State Department aircraft delivering COVID-19 support

A U.S. State Department need to fuel four newly contracted aircraft delivering supplies to fight the coronavirus was met in 2.5 hours by the Defense Logistics Agency April 10.

May is 9-1-1 Awareness Month at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Fire and Emergency Services stress the importance of what information is needed during emergencies to help first responders when making calls to 9-1-1.

911 awareness procedures help DSCR employees

RICHMOND, Va. — National 911 Awareness Month is observed every April on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The 911 system serves as a vital link between emergency responders and the public. The number gives the public a single, simple way to call for help in the event of a fire or other emergency. 911 was chosen as the national emergency phone number during the days of rotary telephones because the 9 and the 1 were easy to find on the dial.

DLA buys cloth face masks to protect DOD employees against coronavirus

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency is proactively procuring cloth face masks to protect Defense Department employees against the coronavirus. The agency began working with American manufacturers to award contracts for reusable, non-surgical, cloth face masks in various styles soon after DOD released guidance requiring people to wear cloth masks on DOD property, installations and facilities in early April.
