Mildenhall maintenance innovation slashes order time by 98 percent

RAF MILDENHALL, England — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Royal Air Force Mildenhall website — Imagine shopping online for an item that must arrive quickly and realizing the order process will take 90 days. Ninety long days to place the order in the cart, hit ‘pay,’ and wait for the package to arrive.

The 91st Missile Wing’s Missile Maintenance Teams of Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, are responsible for maintaining the top three components of the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. MMT is part of the 91st Maintenance Group, the backbone of the 91st MW. The group is responsible for providing maintenance and logistics support to the wing’s ICBM fleet.

DLA Troop Support celebrates 219 years warfighter support in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Employees celebrated 219 years of DLA Troop Support's continuous logistics support to the United States July 6. Although the official “birth” of DLA may stem from the Oct. 1, 1961 creation of the Defense Supply Agency, DLA Troop Support ties its origins to the acquisition of the Schuylkill Arsenal in 1799.
