DLA director praises Troop Support performance during annual review

PHILADELPHIA — “You have been capable in driving significant change in your business practice,” DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch told Troop Support leaders Jan. 5. “But the changes that are required of us going forward are equally as significant.”

Korea’s Lee finds fame through contest

CAMP CARROLL, Korea — Jenny Lee (이연주), a six-month local intern, has become a valuable member of the DLA Distribution Korea team. She is a recent college graduate and was selected from a pool of candidates in the Army supported intern program.

DLA director emphasizes strategic goals at Troop Support town hall

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency director said that while DLA Troop Support has done great work supporting the warfighter over more than 15 years of conflict in the Middle East, the strategic environment is changing.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Robert Sommerfeldt and Senior Airman Dakota Greenwade, both 354th Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle maintenance technicians, work together to pinpoint the issue with a snow blower at Eielson Air Force Base, Jan. 6, 2017. Sommerfeldt and Greenwade ran tests on the machine to best diagnose the problem and fix it.

But what happens when the snow blowers, plows and graders break?

Workers at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, install critical 40/45 upgrades to E-3 AWACS aircraft during programmed depot maintenance at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex. Defense Logistics Agency Energy recently awarded an energy saving performance contract to implement energy conservation measures at the OC-ALC.

DLA Energy Awards Largest Air Force ESPC

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Florida — The Defense Logistics Agency Energy awarded an energy savings performance contract Dec. 13, for the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, or OC-ALC, at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

Columbus mayor visits DSCC

COLUMBUS, Ohio — DLA Land and Maritime Commander, Navy Rear Admiral Michelle Skubic welcomed Columbus, Ohio Mayor Andrew Ginther for a familiarization visit to the Defense Supply Center (DSCC) Columbus installation January 10. Ginther’s visit included an initial meeting with Skubic and her senior leadership team prior to receiving selected operations briefings.

Distribution employees honored at annual DLA award ceremony

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — DLA director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch, along with Distribution’s deputy commander Twila Gonzales, Senior Executive Service, presented six Distribution employees with awards at the DLA 49th Annual Employee Recognition Program ceremony Dec 15. The program seeks to recognize outstanding performers in all segments of the DLA workforce.

Far East District logistic management office moved 6 empty container boxes from Far East District to Defense Reutilization Managemnt Services Office (DRMO) with help from 25th Transportation Battalion Dec. 21. This is all part of the Far East District’s planned relocation to Camp Humphreys.

407th ECES upgrades fire retardant foam
