Deputy commander conducts safety inspection as Troop Support reaches for star status

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support took a step towards achieving recognition for workplace safety with a senior leader inspection Sept. 29.

Outgoing DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, commander Navy Cmdr. Brian Johnson has received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements in leading the distribution center from June 2014 to October 2016.

Yokosuka commander receives Defense Meritorious Service award

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Outgoing DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, commander Navy Cmdr. Brian Johnson has received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements in leading the distribution center from June 2014 to October 2016.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 20 people are physically victimized by an intimate partner in the United States every minute—more than 10 million women and men each year.

One in four women and one in seven men have been victims of severe physical violence by an intimate partner, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Every October, National Domestic Awareness Month is observed to prevent domestic abuse and intimate-partner violence.

Speaker shares advice for living with disability, working with disabled coworkers

A manager from the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services shared her agency’s advice on what to do if you become disabled and offered tips for interacting courteously with people who have disabilities, in an Oct. 11 presentation at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.
