Former Tobyhanna commander receives one-star nomination

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Army Col. Michael Talley, former commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Tobyhanna, Pa., has been selected for the rank of brigadier general.

Lula A. Lacy, a management support assistant for DLA Distribution; Ian G. Ladner, an energy management specialist for DLA Energy; and Edward G. Guthrie, deputy director of DLA Energy’s Defense Fuel Support Point Okinawa, are the DLA Employees of the Quarter winners for the 1st Quarter of fiscal 2016.

Cassel named next Distribution Current Operations director

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Joe Cassel, Jr. has been selected as director, DLA Distribution Current Operations. Currently, he serves as director, Stakeholder Integration Services, DLA Information Operations.

Two MCV-22 Osprey aircraft flew to Defense Supply Center Richmond March 1, 2016. Onboard is Defense Logistics Agency’s Marine Corps Deputy Commandant for Aviation Lt. Gen. Jon Davis who arrived to speak from the voice of the customer perspective on readiness, process excellence, and resiliency during the Senior Leader Conference held March 1-3, 2016. The Osprey was flown by the Marine Corps Squadron One and is the second landing on the Defense Supply Center Richmond’s helipad.

Working to meet Marine Corps’ Aviation readiness goals

Richmond, Virginia — The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Marine Corps customer facing team has taken measures to improve material support for aviation readiness through improved forecasting, industry collaborations, fleet engagement, and supplier summits to ensure life-cycle support. These efforts, combined with continuous process improvements in fleet maintenance and supply, have led to a positive readiness trend for the AV-8B Harrier and its F-402 engine

Honolulu, Hawaii — The director of DLA recently traveled to DLA’s Pacific region to engage with logistics partners, senior military officials and DLA organizations — and get a firsthand, detailed update on DLA’s activities in the region.

RICHMOND, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Jacksonville employee David Scott was honored as the January 2016 Employee of the Month in a ceremony March 16. Scott works as an equipment specialist in the DLA Aviation Customer Operations Directorate on the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida.
