Deputy commander conducts safety inspection as Troop Support reaches for star status

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support took a step towards achieving recognition for workplace safety with a senior leader inspection Sept. 29.

C&E boosts support to wildland firefighters

PHILADELPHIA — More than 10 million acres in the United States burned during last year’s record-setting wildfire season. And since the 2014 season, Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support has provided materiel to help wildland firefighters contain the infernos.

PHILADELPHIA — The Subsistence supply chain hosted a pre-proposal conference Sept. 28 to help vendors preparing proposals for an upcoming beef national contract. Subsistence moved to national contracts for protein items to better leverage the government’s buying power and achieve cost savings.

PHILADEPHIA — In the spirit of resiliency, DLA Troop Support is encouraging employees to take part in America's PrepareAthon! The FEMA campaign is a grassroots movement for action to increase community preparedness and resilience.

Local logisticians went to school Sept. 21 on a tool to help them track where their stuff is. The training included how to run queries for materials in transit to customers around the world through the Integrated Data Environment/Global Transition Network Convergence program.

PHILADELPHIA — Joseph Miler once held the record at the Kentucky State Fair for growing the largest watermelon. But Miller doesn’t use his produce expertise just to set records. He also uses it to support the warfighter and other customers as a Subsistence field rep.
