PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii — Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Troy C. Morse has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Twelve high-mobility, wheeled vehicles arrive among the many Class II and VII items rolling into DLA Disposition Services at Gimcheon, Korea, for the Operation Clean Sweep.

Items still rolling in for Operation Clean Sweep

Agency helps put former military vehicle on the road again

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii — Three sport utility vehicles that once supported American forces will be returning to the road overseas as part of a Foreign Military Sales case with Moldova.

Army Spc. Dartanian Pina and Staff Sgt. Nicholas San Miguel from the 115th BSB, 1st Cavalry Division,unload a pallet of unserviceable parts for recycling to contribute to the 200,000 pounds collected by Fort Hood Recycle.

DLA helps Army units save time, money in 'surge' disposition event

Fort Hood, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency personnel helped Army units at Fort Hood, Texas, save 4,300 man hours in document preparation and screening in a recent two-week event, in which 859 vehicles turned in 400,000 pounds of scrap metal.

A new year brings a new look

Battle Creek, Michigan — As 2017 unfolds, officials at DLA Disposition Services continue to reach out to customers about the Network Optimization initiative to ensure field sites in the continental United States support customer requirements in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.

DLA director praises Troop Support performance during annual review

PHILADELPHIA — “You have been capable in driving significant change in your business practice,” DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch told Troop Support leaders Jan. 5. “But the changes that are required of us going forward are equally as significant.”

Several members of DLA Troop Support’s Command Support Office contributed to a Continuous Process Improvement project to improve Defense Travel System compliance rates from 78 percent to 93 percent. From left, Hank Jansen served as the team coach, Elias Dungca served as the team sponsor, Jontell Platts served as a team member, Raymond Finch served as the project facilitator, Neil Kovnat served as the project champion, and Peter Stupak served as the team lead. Travel authorizations streamlined, DTS compliance rates improved

PHILADELPHIA — last minute, overseas mission was put into jeopardy earlier this year due to errors in employees’ Defense Travel System accounts. Scenarios like this caused two Troop Support employees to peak under the hood of DTS to find out why and fix it.
