DLA Aviation provides critical part to hospital in the wake of Hurricane Maria

Richmond, Va. — The evening of Sept. 18, Hurricane Maria roared through the Island of Dominica as a Category 5 hurricane. A week later the Military Liaison Office in the Barbados and Eastern Caribbean U.S. Embassy reached out to Defense Logistics Agency Aviation with a critical support need from the main hospital in Roseau, the capital of the Caribbean island nation of Dominica.

Agency helps put former military vehicle on the road again

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii — Three sport utility vehicles that once supported American forces will be returning to the road overseas as part of a Foreign Military Sales case with Moldova.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Dolores Brown, foreign policy advisor to the Director of the Defense Logistics Agency, made her inaugural visit to DLA Distribution headquarters in late June to learn more about how Distribution functions within the larger DLA operation, and to learn more about how Distribution services the warfighter worldwide.

DLA Land and Maritime’s Raytheon Working Group brought home first place in the Productivity or Process Improvement Award category by a team at the 39th Annual Federal Executive Association’s Excellence in Government Awards luncheon.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Federal workers from Columbus and Central Ohio filled the ballroom at Villa Milano May 5 for the 2016 Excellence in Government Awards luncheon. Hosted by the Federal Executive Association, the awards luncheon is held annually in conjunction with Public Service Recognition Week.
