Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime People and Culture Director retirement announced

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Retirement Ceremony in honor of Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime People and Culture Director, Robert L. Boggs Ph.D, is being held in the Building 20 Auditorium Dec. 11 at 10 a.m.

Oct. 3, four DLA associates spoke with students at 2019 Youngstown State University Fall Expo to recruit for DLA.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime’s Engineering and Technical Support Directorate participated in the 2019 Youngstown State University STEM Expo on Oct. 3, to discuss internships and full-time employment with undergraduates.

New employees experience fire drill during September session

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The September New Employee Orientation was held Sept. 25-26 in Building 20. The session was attended by 15 new associates from the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, Installation Services and J8C. There was some unexpected excitement and hands on activity when a fire drill followed the Defense Supply Center Columbus Fire Department presentation!

DLA Land and Maritime recruits at the Ohio Disabilities Career Fair

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime participated in the Opportunities for Ohioans Job Fair Oct. 9. The job fair was hosted at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center located on the Ohio State University campus.

DLA Land and Maritime August New Employees

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime New Employee Orientation was held Aug. 28-29 in the Operation Center’s Buckeye Room. There were 19 new employees from a variety of disciplines. For the first time, associates from J8’s Finance also participated. DLA Land and Maritime Director of Operations Griff Warren opened the two-day orientation by welcoming all of the new employees.

DLA Land and Maritime recruiter, David Lanzillotta, participated in the Ohio State University (OSU) Economics Career Fair on Thursday, September 19, at the Ohio Union.

FY20 Executive Development Program seeks nominations

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Logistics Agency Executive Development Program is currently seeking nominations for fiscal year 2020. The purpose of the EDP is to develop DLA’s current and future leaders, prepare them to effectively navigate and manage leadership challenges, and develop leadership competencies critical to maintaining supply chain excellence.

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of our beloved and much appreciated Ms. Marcia Mitchell.  She will always be remembered as a hardworking, committed, and friendly person. She is a true exemplary associate, one to look for and follow and an even truer friend. Please join us at her retirement reception which will be held in Building 20, Buckeye Room August 21, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. to celebrate her end of service and wish her the best.

Commentary: DLA Makes Me the Lucky One

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Adults far into their career always say we are “the lucky ones” because we have a clean slate to start our careers in whichever direction we choose to push ourselves. However, for a while, I believed it was those successful career people who were the lucky ones.

2020 Solicitation for FY20 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The developmental assignments have been posted for the FY20 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program. Nominations are now being accepted. Enterprise assignments are cross-organizational, at the GS-11 through GS-15 level, and range in length from 3 to 12 months. Assignments are available at several locations throughout the Agency and begin in January 2020 or shortly thereafter.
