FY20 Executive Development Program seeks nominations

The Defense Logistics Agency Executive Development Program is currently seeking nominations for fiscal year 2020. The purpose of the EDP is to develop DLA’s current and future leaders, prepare them to effectively navigate and manage leadership challenges, and develop leadership competencies critical to maintaining supply chain excellence.

2020 Solicitation for FY20 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program

The developmental assignments have been posted for the FY20 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program. Nominations are now being accepted. Enterprise assignments are cross-organizational, at the GS-11 through GS-15 level, and range in length from 3 to 12 months. Assignments are available at several locations throughout the Agency and begin in January 2020 or shortly thereafter.

Veterans serving veterans, giving thanks across military generations

Many Americans gathered with family and friends to give thanks last week; however, members of the DLA Land and Maritime family met with another family to give thanks this season – veterans. The 13-member group of active duty and retired service members led by the Joint Reserve Force supported the Columbus VA annual Thanksgiving feast for area veterans. The event was held at the American Legion Post 144 on South High Street Nov. 16.

Family service, loss themes of 2018 Marine Corps birthday celebration at DSCC

The Marine Corps celebrated 243 years of service to the nation during a birthday celebration at the Defense Supply Center Columbus Nov. 7. “The U.S. Marine Corps has a long, proud history of service defending America’s liberties and ideals dating back to the foundation of our country,” said Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Deputy Commander Steve Alsup opening the program. “Through multiple conflicts, the valor and courage of the Corps has been battle-tested and proven.”

The purpose of the academy is to increase DLA Land and Maritime employees understanding of the organization’s mission and how it’s accomplished. The academy kicked-off with a high-level overview of the Defense Logistics Agency, narrowing focus down to Land and Maritime operations.

DLA Land and Maritime associates race across Ohio

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime associates spent their weekend running 131 miles for cancer awareness Aug 24-25, as part of the fourth annual Columbus to Cincinnati Relay Run. Team "Are We There Yet?" completed the two-day running adventure across Ohio and raised more than $2,800 to help in the fight against cancer.

DSCC’s fight against hunger continues in 2018

DLA Land and Maritime and DSCC are partnering with the Mid-Ohio Food Bank to help fight hunger in the greater Columbus area. For the past nine years, the installation has provided continuous support to the local food bank aiding half a million people experiencing food insecurity annually in Ohio.
