First responders use DLA excess for pandemic readiness

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Police and fire organizations around the country are using their access to surplus military equipment to augment healthcare response in their local jurisdictions.

Property Disposal Specialist Keneicsha Monroe examines some ventilators at the DLA Disposition Services site at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Monroe and other specialists at all DLA Disposition Services sites having been working to locate high demand medical supplies and equipment in the excess property inventory to have items ready for reutilization, transfer and donation requisitions in support of the COVID-19 response.

Agency answers call for medical equipment

Battle Creek, Michigan — The employees at the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services locations have a long history of making excess military equipment available to help those dealing with emergencies and natural disasters, and the COVID-19 response is no exception.

Cannon wraps up year with worldwide town hall
