Director recognizes history of government entities

BATTLE CREEK, Mich — August has the honor of celebrating the birth of both the US Coast Guard and the Department of Defense. The United States Coast Guard celebrates its 232nd birthday on August 4th while Defense Department was created on the August 10, 1949. Semper Paratus—Always Ready.

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Employees celebrated the Army’s 247th birthday June 7 in the McNamara Headquarters Complex auditorium. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Tomeka O’Neal, Defense Logistics Agency senior enlisted leader, led the event.

Lessons in loyalty, patriotism mark Air Force’s 70th birthday

In a Sept. 12 celebration, McNamara Headquarters Complex tenant organizations commemorated the Air Force’s 70th birthday with a color guard, the Air Force Brass Quintet, a cake cutting and singing.
