JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. – — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Joint Base Langley-Eustis website — From refueling jets and firetrucks to testing fuel samples and maintaining liquid oxygen, the 733rd Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels management flight does it all at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

The New Horizon’s spacecraft captures an image of Pluto July 13. The mission is supported by the Defense Logistics Agency Energy-procured propellant hydrazine.

DLA Energy supports New Horizons spacecraft’s Pluto mission

San Antonio, Texas — The Defense Logistics Agency Energy’s support now extends to the edge of the solar system as NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft reaches Pluto. Propellants used along the spacecraft’s journey, as well as the fuel and other products used in the Atlas V rocket that launched New Horizons were all procured, stored and transported by DLA Energy.
