Turkish Land Forces Command visits DLA Distribution

Members of the Turkish Land Forces Command visited the largest distribution center in the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution network, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on Nov. 19 to discuss DLA’s global logistics processes and how DLA Distribution supports foreign military sales customers. The visit included Maj. Gen. Mehmet Özoğlu, head of the Logistics Directorate in the Turkish Land Forces Command.

The newly assigned Defense Logistics Agency National Account Managers representing the Army, Air Force and the Marine Corps, as well as representatives from DLA headquarters customer assistance and strategic engagement teams visited DLA Distribution headquarters and its largest distribution center in the network, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on Nov. 17 to discuss DLA’s global logistics processes.

San Joaquin celebrates the Marine Corps Birthday and paid tribute to all veterans

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Joaquin, Calif. celebrated the 240th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps Nov. 9 during an afternoon ceremony. Distribution center employees and tenants attended the time-honored tradition and witnessed the tradi¬tional cake cutting ceremony.

CFC Agency Fair held on Susquehanna installation

In addition to donating to a favorite non-profit, the Combined Federal Campaign provides an opportunity for Federal employees to learn about other local charities and the services they provide. As it often happens, making a personal connection to a charity leads to a mutually benefiting, long-term relationship. To educate employees and make those connections, an agency fair was held at Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna, Nov. 5.

Guam distribution center holds active shooter exercise

A 2000-2013 Federal Bureau of Investigation study reported approximately 160 active shooter incidents in the United States, which have occurred in commerce areas, education environments, open spaces, residences, houses of worship, health care facilities, military, and other government properties. “Here on Guam, a beautiful tropical island in the Pacific, we are not immune to such an occurrence of an active shooter situation,” said Macy Ooka, the DLA Distribution Guam, Marianas’ director. “I felt duty-bound to address this very real threat.” As a result, on October 27, the distribution center conducted its first ever full-scale active shooter exercise.
